Description
Cherry bark tea canister with petal and frost motif.
The exterior of this tea canister uses a frosted bark that expresses the naturalness of mountain cherry bark as it is. You can feel the texture of the bark as you would on the trunk of the tree in its natural habitat. The slightly gray-white color is reminiscent of the frost of the last winter mornings. Moreover, the inlay of wood with petal patterns of flowers and cherry blossoms blown away by the wind expresses the fragility and ephemeral beauty, notions so present in Japanese thought.
It is a precious object, of a raw nature like this bark, and yet refined with these delicate cherry blossoms, which will enrich the tasting of your favorite teas.
Denshiro's "Kabazaiku" bark processing technique dates back to 1851, and has been passed down through six generations. The bark of wild cherry trees is harvested in such a way as to allow for regeneration so as not to interfere with the growth of the trees.
