This tea box is an original model of our craftsman.
By the aesthetics of this box the craftsman would like to transmit the image of a bud. It is a blend of several types of mountain cherry bark: a fine bark traditionally used on tea boxes, another bark chosen for its marbling, and finally the reverse side of a fine bark, all for a dynamic finish. On the lid, careful mother-of-pearl inlays remind us of morning dew drops on the buds.
This blending is possible thanks to the Denshiro house's "Kabazaiku" bark working technique, which dates back to 1851 and has been handed down over six generations. The bark of the wild cherry tree is harvested in such a way as to allow its regeneration so as not to interfere with the growth of the trees.
