This large Japanese cedar bowl has a unique shape and is a feat of the Magewappa technique.
This technique, which is over 400 years old, uses steam at high temperatures to shape the wood into the desired form. Most often the shapes are cylindrical, but this bowl pushes this technique to the limit! This large cedar bowl received the "Long Life Design" award from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. It is made of cedar from the Akita region of Japan. This natural material is light, pleasant to the touch, and the design is elegant.
This bowl can hold your seasonal fruits, a nice salad for summer, or a big dish of pasta with sauce for the family.
